Job summary

Saab is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers for its West Lafayette, IN facility to build the aft fuselage for the T-7A Red Hawk. You will assemble aircraft structures, train new team members, and contribute to a state-of-the-art production system.

On-site training is provided through the Aerospace Structures training academy; start date anticipated in early December 2026. Responsibilities include following standardized procedures, delivering 100% quality, supporting continuous improvement,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Follow standard procedures to install systems and perform final assembly on the aircraft fuselage.
• Ensure work meets quality requirements and instructions; apply daily improvements as needed.
• Support continuous improvement focused on safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting as required.
• Sign off on completed work per specifications and train new employees.
