Saab is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force T-7A Red Hawk at our West Lafayette, IN facility. Start early December 2026 with paid on-site training in Aerospace structures.

Roles include assembling the aircraft structure, training teammates, and contributing to a state-of-the-art production system. The team emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork in a dynamic defense environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsabilités

• Assemble aircraft fuselage per standardized procedures and quality requirements.
• Train new team members and transfer knowledge of processes.
• Support daily continuous improvement focusing on safety, quality, and cost.
• Perform functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Touch up paint on Class A surfaces as required.
• Sign off when work is complete per specifications.
• Contribute to a positive, productive work environment aligned with Saab values.
