Job summary

Saab is hiring 3rd shift Structural Assemblers in West Lafayette, IN to build the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force T-7A Red Hawk trainer. Roles include assembly, learning the aerospace production system, and training new team members with paid on-site training in our aerospace structures academy.

Start date anticipated for early December 2026. Responsibilities include following standardized procedures, supporting continuous improvement, and performing functional tests on assemblies.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Follow standardized procedures to maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks, including lifting.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft fuselage components per procedures and quality requirements.
• Train new team members and contribute to lifting and handling tasks.
• Participate in continuous improvement for safety, quality, cost and delivery.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and sign off per spec.
