Job summary

Saab in West Lafayette, IN is seeking 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to build the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force T-7A Red Hawk. You will assemble aircraft structures, participate in training, and help define our state-of-the-art production system.

Paid on-site training provided. Start date anticipated early December 2026. Responsibilities include executing procedures to install systems and finalize assembly, delivering quality per instructions, supporting continuous improvement, and

Qualifications

• 2+ years of assembly or hand tool experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Ability to select and safely use appropriate hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow standardized procedures and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft fuselage sections per procedures.
• Follow quality requirements and work instructions within a team.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle Class A surfaces including touch-up painting.
• Sign off when work meets specs.
• Assist training and knowledge transfer to new employees.
• Support a positive work environment aligned with company values.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
