Job summary

Saab is building the aft fuselage for the U.S. Air Force T-7A Red Hawk at its West Lafayette, IN facility. We seek 3rd shift Structural Assemblers to assemble aircraft structures, train teammates, and contribute to a cutting-edge production system.

Start date anticipated early December 2026. Responsibilities include following procedures, maintaining quality, enabling continuous improvement, and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant assembly or hand tool experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks, including bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, reaching, and gripping.

Responsibilities

• Assemble aircraft structure and final fuselage assembly per standardized procedures.
• Train new team members and contribute to a state-of-the-art production system.
• Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery and morale.
• Complete functional testing of assemblies and systems.
• Handle and touch-up Class A surfaces as needed.
• Sign off when work is completed per specifications.
