Job summary

Parker Aerospace is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to secure the best quality, service, and value through strategic bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. The role sources critical parts, equipment, and services, identifying suppliers and arranging delivery while ensuring compliance with regulations.

You will negotiate terms, monitor supplier performance, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvements in the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field required. Six or more years of increasingly responsible related experience; CPM or APICS desired.
• Knowledge of purchasing and negotiating methods, principles and concepts.
• Knowledge of industry practices, general business operations, and policies.
• Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to procurement.
• Ability to effectively implement continuous improvement principles and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and recommends suppliers by investigating potential suppliers, researching parts, equipment, machinery, services, and materials.
• Conducts supplier site visits and evaluates production capability, performance, delivery and other criteria.
• Evaluates proposals and negotiates price, delivery, quality and service with suppliers.
• Issues purchase orders reflecting negotiated terms and conditions; may include international suppliers.
• Monitors supplier performance and implements corrective actions to resolve issues.
• Negotiates and settles claims, rejections, and changes with suppliers.
• Ensures compliance with procurement regulations and company policies.
• Prepares complex reports and analyses by collecting and summarizing information and trends.
