Job summary

RTX is seeking an on-site Mechanical Design engineer in Tucson to design, analyze, prototype, and implement advanced mechanical test fixtures and environmental stations for complex weapon systems. You will work across the full lifecycle, from development to sustainment, with frequent collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams.

The role requires a STEM degree and hands‑on experience with parametric CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, CATIA or NX).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM by start date.
• Experience using parametric 3D CAD software to generate 3D models and drawings.
• Experience in mechanical design through coursework, projects, or teams.
• Experience may be obtained via on‑the‑job work, research, or coursework.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, prototype, and implement mechanical test fixtures and environmental test stations.
• Conceptualize and integrate mechanical systems with state‑of‑the‑art test technologies.
• Create 3D assemblies and 2D drawings using CAD tools and ensure compliance with drafting standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to diagnose issues and implement design improvements.
