Job summary

RTX is seeking a Test Solutions Engineer in Tucson, AZ to design, analyze, prototype, and implement advanced mechanical test fixtures and environmental test stations for complex weapon systems across their lifecycle. Occasional CONUS travel is possible; onsite role.

The role requires a STEM degree and hands-on CAD experience, with travel and security clearance eligibility. You will work with a skilled team to deliver robust testing solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM earned by start date.
• Experience using parametric 3D CAD to create models and drawings.
• Mechanical design experience from coursework, projects, or competitions.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, and design custom mechanical test solutions for vibration and thermal environments.
• Conceptualize and implement mechanical systems that integrate with test technologies.
• Create 3D CAD assemblies and 2D drawings using parametric CAD tools.
• Ensure data packages meet ASME Y14 or ISO GD&T standards.
• Integrate and validate test systems to meet accuracy, repeatability, and reliability goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose malfunctions and implement design improvements.
