Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer within the Test Solutions Engineering team to design and implement advanced mechanical test fixtures and environmental test stations across the product lifecycle.

The role involves CAD modeling, drafting, validating data packages to ASME Y14/GD&T, and collaboration with cross-functional teams; occasional CONUS travel; relocation eligible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM required by start date.
• Experience using parametric 3D CAD to create 3D models and 2D drawings.
• Experience in mechanical design via coursework, projects or competitions.
• Experience may come from on‑the‑job or coursework.

Responsibilities

• Research, plan, and design custom mechanical test solutions.
• Conceptualize and implement mechanical systems with advanced test tech.
• Use CAD tools to create 3D assemblies and 2D drawings.
• Ensure data packages follow ASME Y14 / ISO GD&T standards.
• Integrate and validate test systems for accuracy and reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to diagnose issues.
