Job summary

RTX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Test Solutions Engineering team within the Hardware Discipline Center. You will design, analyze, prototype, and implement advanced mechanical test fixtures and environmental stations supporting weapon systems across their lifecycle.

Occasional CONUS travel is expected; international travel is optional. A STEM degree and hands‑on CAD experience are required, with a path to contribute from development through sustainment in a dynamic defense

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM must be completed by start date.
• Experience using parametric 3D CAD to generate 3D models and drawings.
• Mechanical design experience through coursework, academic projects, or teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, prototype, and implement advanced mechanical test fixtures and environmental test stations.
• Create 3D assemblies and 2D drawings; ensure data packages follow drafting standards (ASME Y14/ISO GD&T).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams; support production and field operations; occasional CONUS travel.
