Job summary

RTX is seeking a mechanical design engineer to join the Test Solutions Engineering team onsite in Tucson. You will design, analyze, prototype, and implement high‑reliability test fixtures and environmental stations supporting weapon systems throughout development, production and sustainment.

You will use state‑of‑the‑art CAD tools to deliver 3D models and 2D drawings, adhere to drafting standards, and collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to drive design improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM disciplines required.
• Experience with parametric 3D CAD to create 3D models, assemblies and 2D drawings.
• Experience in mechanical design through coursework, labs, capstones or projects.
• On‑the‑job experience or coursework acceptable for growth.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, prototype, and implement advanced mechanical test fixtures.
• Develop and maintain environmental test stations for weapon systems.
• Create 3D assemblies and 2D drawings using CAD tools.
• Ensure data packages meet ASME Y14 / GD&T standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to diagnose issues and implement improvements.
