RTX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, analyze, prototype, and implement advanced mechanical test fixtures and environmental test stations for national defense applications.

You will use CAD tools to create 3D assemblies and 2D drawings, ensure compliance with industry drafting standards, and collaborate across engineering and manufacturing teams. Some CONUS travel may be required.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
• Experience utilizing parametric 3D CAD software to generate 3D solid models, mechanical assemblies, and detailed 2D drawings.
• Experience in mechanical design applied through coursework, academic research, engineering competition teams, or hands-on projects.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsabilidades

• Research, plan, and design custom mechanical test solutions for vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, and electro-optical environments.
• Conceptualize and implement mechanical systems that integrate with state-of-the-art test technologies.
• Use parametric CAD to create 3D assemblies and detailed 2D drawings.
• Ensure all technical data packages adhere to drafting standards (ASME Y14 or ISO GD&T).
• Integrate and validate test systems against accuracy, repeatability, and reliability requirements.
• Evaluate production installations and diagnose malfunctions for design enhancements.
