Job summary

RTX is seeking a Test Solutions Engineer to design, analyze, prototype, and implement high-reliability mechanical test fixtures for defense systems. You will work within the Hardware Discipline Center to deliver solutions across development, production, field operations, and sustainment.

The role requires a STEM degree, CAD proficiency (SolidWorks/Creo/Inventor), and a focus on precision, GD&T standards, and collaboration with manufacturing and engineering teams. Occasional travel may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM disciplines required by start date.
• Experience with parametric 3D CAD to create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings.
• Experience in mechanical design via coursework, projects, or teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, prototype, and implement advanced mechanical test fixtures and environmental test stations.
• Research, plan, and design custom mechanical test solutions for vibration, thermal, hydraulic, RF, and electro-optical environments.
• Create 3D assemblies and detailed 2D drawings using CAD tools; ensure data packages meet ASME Y14/ISO GD&T standards.
• Integrate and validate test systems for accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to diagnose issues and implement design improvements.
• Occasional CONUS travel to customer sites or suppliers; some international/longer trips are possible.
