Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Wichita, KS is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to coordinate cross-functional teams and guide the program manufacturing and tooling plan.

You will apply process engineering principles to improve manufacturing, develop tooling configurations, perform trade studies, and support daily production engineering activities across composite, electrical, machining, sheet metal, and structures domains.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 5+ years of related engineering experience.
• Experience managing projects within a manufacturing production environment.
• Experience designing manufacturing processes and selecting tooling to meet product specifications and production goals.
• Led cross-functional problem-solving and provided daily production engineering support.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates with engineering, manufacturing, and supply teams to develop and guide the program manufacturing and tooling plan.
• Ensures the identification and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and improves manufacturing processes in support of the type design.
• Uses process engineering principles and techniques.
• Develops, establishes, and guides requirements for assembly, tooling simulations, and manufacturing configurations.
• Performs trade and cost studies and assists in leading integrated product and process teams.
• Ability to apply knowledge in one or more areas: Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures.
