Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems in Wichita, KS is seeking a manufacturing operations process expert to guide build plans, improve methods, and estimate labor hours for new bid proposals.

You will apply production engineering principles, support quality and cost-effective methods, and coordinate with engineering, lean, tooling and operations to drive long-range technical projects. Strong communication and assembly knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support.
• High level of understanding in manufacturing of Sheet Metal assembly.
• MS Office Excel and PowerPoint; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to build plan including methods, sequence, tool plans and layouts.
• Keep up with industry best practices and implement them in operations.
• Develop labor hour estimates and tooling/build concepts for bids.
• Provide expertise in production engineering disciplines.
• Coordinate with Engineering, management, lean, tooling and operations.
• Develop quality and cost-effective methods, standards and systems for production.
