Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Wichita, KS is seeking an experienced manufacturing engineer to coordinate program manufacturing and tooling plans on-site. You will apply process engineering to improve production, develop tooling configurations, and lead trade and cost studies within a cross-functional team.

This role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree and 5+ years of related experience, with knowledge of metallic and composite manufacturing processes and tooling selection.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 5+ years of related engineering experience.
• Experience designing manufacturing processes and tooling to meet specs.
• Proven cross-functional problem-solving and production support.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing and supply teams to develop program manufacturing and tooling plans.
• Identify and implement advanced manufacturing technologies and improve processes for the type design.
• Apply process engineering principles to guide assembly tooling configurations.
• Lead trade and cost studies and support integrated product and process teams.
• Work in areas including composite/non-metallic, electrical/electronics, machining, sheet metal, systems and structures.
