Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. is seeking an operation process expert to guide the build plan, improve methods, and develop labor hour estimates for new bid proposals within a Boeing-affiliated environment in Wichita, Kansas.

You'll collaborate with Engineering, Lean, tooling and operations teams to apply production engineering principles, push continuous improvement, and mentor less experienced staff while ensuring quality and cost-effective methods across sheet metal assembly and related

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and manufacturing support.
• High level of understanding in manufacturing of Sheet Metal assembly.
• MS Office suite, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
• Active listener and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• As the operation process expert, this role provides guidance to the build plan including methods and techniques, sequence of steps, tool plans, layouts, etc.
• Responsible for keeping up with industry best practices and implementing them within operations
• Develop labor hour estimates as well as tooling and build concepts for new bid proposals
• Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines
• Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required. Teams to coordinate with include: Engineering, management, lean, tooling and operations
• Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles
• Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects
• Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff
