Job summary

Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. in Wichita, KS is seeking a mid‑level engineer to coordinate with engineering, manufacturing and supply teams to develop the program manufacturing and tooling plan.

The role requires a Bachelors Degree in Engineering and 5+ years of related experience. You will apply process engineering principles to improve manufacturing processes for the type design, lead cost studies, and support tooling simulations while working with composite and metallic techniques.

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited engineering program.
• 5+ years of related engineering experience.
• Experience with managing projects within a manufacturing production enviroment.
• Has experience Designing manufacturing processes and selecting tooling/components to meet product specifications and production goals.
• Led cross‑functional problem‑solving efforts and provided daily production engineering support to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, and supply teams to develop and guide the program manufacturing and tooling plan.
• Identify and implement advanced manufacturing technologies to improve processes for the type design.
• Apply process engineering principles and techniques.
• Develop and guide requirements for assembly, tooling simulations, and manufacturing configurations.
• Perform trade and cost studies and lead integrated product and process teams.
• Apply knowledge in composites, electrical, machining, sheet metal, systems and structures.
