Job summary

Ascent Aerospace in Lake Orion, MI seeks a CNC Operator to join the CNC Department and set up aerospace toolings on 3-axis machines. You will validate programs and oversee day-to-day NC operations for tool and part production.

You will collaborate with NC Programmers and the CNC Manager to ensure safe, accurate machining, read blueprints with GD&T, and maintain NC databases, while adhering to export-control requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in conventional or NC machining.
• Experience operating 3-axis Hurco CNC machines.
• Experience with conversational programming.
• Proficient in numerical control database management.
• Strong math skills including proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints with GD&T and tolerances.
• Export Control Compliance: must meet U.S. Person requirements under ITAR.

Responsibilities

• Works with NC Programmers and CNC Manager to establish NC tool setups and validate NC programs for 3-axis CNC machines.
• Responsible for complete NC operation for machining tools, details, and parts.
• Maintains safe operations by following procedures and policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.
