Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Mill Operator in Auburn, CA to run 3- and 4-axis CNC mills and grinders for aerospace components. You will read blueprints, set up tooling, and perform in-process inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality.

The role requires at least 2 years of CNC milling experience, familiarity with GD&T, and strong attention to safety and documentation. This is an onsite, permanent position with potential for overtime and career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating 3-axis CNC mills.
• Hands-on experience with micrometers and other inspection tools.
• Ability to set up CNC mills and related equipment, including tooling, fixtures, and workholding.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading to interpret engineering drawings.
• Working knowledge of machining practices, including milling and grinding.
• Ability to make manual adjustments at machine controls to optimize performance.
• Familiarity with basic quality control practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Capability to work independently under minimal supervision while following established procedures.
• Understanding of general safety practices in a manufacturing setting, including proper use of PPE.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate 3- and 4-axis CNC mills and grinders used in aerospace manufacturing to produce precision components.
• Configure and use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and ensure products meet specifications.
• Make manual adjustments at the machine interface and controls to optimize performance, maintain proper operation, and validate product compliance.
• Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements and set up parameters.
• Perform machine setup activities, including tooling selection, fixture installation, and part alignment for milling and grinding operations.
• Use inspection tools to conduct in-process and final inspections, documenting results in accordance with quality standards.
• Apply knowledge of GD&T to understand geometric tolerances and ensure parts conform to engineering requirements when applicable.
• Monitor production processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality, efficiency, and throughput
• Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Follow established procedures and work instructions while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
• Comply with all safety, quality, and manufacturing policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
