Job summary

Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc. (AMA) is seeking a part-time CAD Modeling Intern to support the Flight Dynamics Research Facility at NASA Langley Research Center.

The intern will develop CAD models in .igs or .stp formats and contribute to the Entry Systems Modeling project for rapid prototype fabrication and testing of dynamic stability. Requirements: undergraduate or graduate student in mechanical or aerospace engineering with at least two years CAD experience or two CAD courses, able to

Qualifications

• Undergrad or grad student in mechanical or aerospace engineering is required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience developing CAD models or 2 semesters of CAD coursework.
• Experience with .igs or .stp formats and native CAD formats.
• Ability to work onsite at NASA Langley is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop CAD models in .igs or .stp, and native CAD formats used for design work.
• Create CAD models for oscillation configurations and relevant reference points.
• Design geometry to accommodate mounting interfaces and alignment features.
• Create CAD solid models for wind tunnel models using 3D printing methods or similar.
• Ensure models allow movable center of gravity for testing.
