Job summary

Benesch is seeking an Accounting Coordinator (Biller) to support project accounting, client invoicing, and billing compliance. You will partner with Project Managers and clients to ensure accurate project setup, timely billing, and effective accounts receivable management.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance or related field, 5+ years in project accounting, and strong Deltek/Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; or high school with relevant project accounting and billing experience in AEC.
• Minimum 5 years of project accounting, billing, or accounting experience.
• Experience in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) or professional services industry preferred.
• Experience working with state DOT agencies, transportation clients, railroads, or public-sector contracts preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Deltek Vantagepoint (or similar project-based accounting software).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Establish new projects and clients within Deltek Vantagepoint based on contract requirements.
• Review contract terms to reflect project, billing, labor, and invoicing parameters.
• Maintain project and contract files and closeout records.
• Update accounting records for project modifications and closeouts.
• Configure billing setups and prepare client invoices per contract terms.
• Coordinate billing with Project Managers and clients.
• Prepare billing support schedules and documentation for clients.
• Verify costs and subconsultant expenses against contracts.
• Review revenue activity for accurate recognition and invoicing.
• Monitor contract limits and project billing status.
• Identify billing disputes and support collection efforts.
• Prepare and distribute project accounting reports and summaries.
• Support period-end close, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
• Assist with AR monitoring, aging reviews, and collections follow-up.
• Support audits and maintain compliant records.
