Job summary
The GEO Group, Inc. invites applications for a skilled clinician responsible for delivering front-line medical care to inmate populations. You will perform examinations, diagnose illnesses, and develop treatment plans within state regulations and with physician collaboration.
Ideal candidates hold an RN/NP/PA license, with 2+ years of advanced practice; you’ll manage prescriptions, order tests, and contribute to preventive care and health promotion within a correctional setting.
Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies.
- Current, unrestricted license to practice as RN/NP or PA in the state.
- Two years of advanced practice experience preferred.
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
- Ability to administer prescribed medications.
- Ability to perform complete physical appraisals of patients.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine medical examinations on inmates under established guidelines.
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses.
- Prescribe medications and determine dosages per licensure.
- Order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests with physician oversight.
- Maintain comprehensive medical records and treatment plans.
