Job summary

GEO Secured Services is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to diagnose and treat inmates, independently or with a medical team. The role focuses on health promotion, disease prevention, and preventive care, including diagnostic testing and medication management.

You will develop treatment plans, counsel patients on regimens, and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed while maintaining thorough medical records in a correctional setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies.
• Must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice as a RN, NP, or PA in the state, plus a DEA license.
• Two years of advanced practice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
• Ability to administer prescribed medications and perform physical assessments.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine medical examinations on inmates or detainees under established guidelines.
• Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic medical illnesses.
• Provides medical treatment in conjunction with a physician.
• Develops and implements treatment plans based on patient health.
• Prescribes medications and determines dosages.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests as needed under physician oversight.
• Maintains comprehensive health care records.
