Responsibilities include performing exams, prescribing medications, ordering tests, educating patients, and arranging follow-up care while adhering to facility protocols and state

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as RN, NP, or PA in the facility's state; DEA license.
• Two years of advanced practice experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine medical examinations on inmates or detainees.
• Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic illnesses.
• Prescribes medications and coordinates with physicians.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests.
• Schedules follow-up visits and documents care plans.
• Maintains knowledge of state regulations for practitioner licensure.
