Job summary

The GEO Group is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to diagnose and treat inmates or detainees within our facility. You will work independently or with a healthcare team to promote health, perform diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications under physician oversight.

Responsibilities include conducting routine exams, managing chronic conditions, developing treatment plans, documenting care, and counseling patients on medication regimens and prevention.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies.
• Current, unrestricted license as RN/NP or PA and a DEA license.
• Two years of advanced practice experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and differential diagnosis.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine medical examinations on inmates or detainees under established guidelines.
• Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic medical illnesses.
• Provides medical treatment and services with physician oversight.
• Formulates comprehensive treatment plans and prognosis based on patient health.
• Prescribes medications under state and DEA licensure.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests with physician oversight as needed.
• Documents health care services and maintains medical records.
• Counsels patients on prescribed regimens and potential interactions.
• Educates patients on self-management and prevention.
• Schedules follow-up visits to monitor health and outcomes.
