The GEO Group is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses for inmates under a healthcare team. The role emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, and appropriate referrals when needed.

Responsibilities include performing exams, ordering tests (CBCs, EKGs, radiographs), developing treatment plans, and ensuring accurate medical records. A valid NP/PA license and DEA license are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies.
• Must hold a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner, or as a Physician Assistant in the state of the facility, plus a current DEA license.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine medical examinations on inmates or detainees.
• Diagnoses and treats acute and chronic medical illnesses.
• Prescribes medications and administers treatments under physician supervision.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests with physician oversight.
• Maintains comprehensive medical records and coordinates follow-up care.
