The GEO Group is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to diagnose and treat inmates or detainees, work with a medical team, and manage preventive care in a correctional setting. The role emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention, and appropriate prescriptions under physician supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant studies.
• Current, unrestricted RN/NP or PA license and DEA license.
• Two years of advanced practice experience preferred.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology; ability to perform basic procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine medical examinations for inmates or detainees under established guidelines.
• Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical illnesses.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans with physician oversight.
• Order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests (CBCs, EKGs, x-rays) as needed.
• Educate patients about self-management of illnesses and medications.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records and comply with safety policies.
• Provide 24-hour coverage as required.
