Job summary

NCSSM in Durham and Morganton is seeking a full-time, ten-month Instructor in the Department of Mathematics to teach Calculus, Data Science, or other advanced mathematics coursework.

The position requires a Master’s degree and prior teaching experience, along with a willingness to participate in residential school programs, develop curricula, hold office hours, advise students, and engage in collegial service across NCSSM.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Calculus, Data Science, or advanced mathematics coursework.
• Experience using educational technology.
• Commitment to designing new curriculum and participating in residential school programs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and develop instructional programs aligned with course content.
• Develop clear course objectives and goals.
• Hold at least three office hours per week and provide tutorials as outlined by the department.
• Grade and provide timely feedback with comments on grade reports.
• Communicate with parents and support team when necessary.
• Participate in January Term courses and department/school committees.
• Write recommendations for students upon request.
