Job summary

Republic Services in Houston, TX is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis, refuse bodies, control systems, hydraulics, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain and steering. You will diagnose multi-system issues, perform preventative and on-road service, and work with updated tools to keep our fleet productive.

Prior experience with Class 1-8 vehicles and a valid license is preferred; ASE or CDL are a

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues with technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on Classes 1-5 light/medium and heavy-duty Class 7-8 vehicles or equivalent.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of technician experience or recent graduation from automotive program within 3 months.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain chassis components and refuse bodies including hydraulic/electrical systems and air/brake systems.
• Perform light engine repair and maintenance.
• Maintain suspension, drivetrain and steering systems.
• Service heating and air conditioning.
• Perform welding and fabrication as needed.
• Provide on-road service to return equipment to operation safely and efficiently.
• Identify malfunction sources using electronic tools.
• Complete required company training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
