Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Maintenance Technician B to perform repair and preventative maintenance on diesel and non-diesel equipment, including chassis components, refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical systems, air brakes, engines, HVAC, suspension, and drive train. The role includes basic tire work and on-road service as needed.

You'll work with state-of-the-art fleet, supporting drivers and ensuring efficient operation.

Qualifications

• Diagnose multi-system issues and demonstrate technical expertise.
• Basic understanding of work order labor time standards.
• Experience with maintenance on heavy-duty trucks and related equipment.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• CDL is a plus but not required.
• 3-5 years of technician experience or recent graduation from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair chassis components and refuse bodies.
• Service hydraulic and electrical control systems and air/brake systems.
• Perform light engine, suspension, drive train and steering work.
• Repair heating/AC and perform welding/fabrication as needed.
• Provide on-site and on-road road service when required.
• Identify malfunction sources using electronic tools; complete training.
