Job summary

Smith & Wollensky Chicago is seeking an experienced Broiler Cook to join its high-volume culinary team. You will prepare and cook premium steaks and other items to exact specs, maintaining top quality, consistency, and presentation.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of broiler/grill experience, knowledge of steak temperatures, and strong food-safety practices. This on-site role offers strong growth and a path to culinary excellence.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years broiler or grill experience in a busy steakhouse.
• Knowledge of steak temperatures and proper protein cookery.
• Solid food safety and sanitation understanding.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook steaks, chops, seafood, and other menu items to spec.
• Accurately cook proteins to requested temperatures while maintaining quality.
• Monitor product quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Maintain a clean, organized broiler station.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Communicate with chefs and kitchen team to ensure timely service.
• Assist with opening, closing, and daily prep duties.
