Job summary
The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will report to the Director of Nursing and help plan, organize, and direct day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the Nursing Services Department in a Connecticut nonprofit facility.
The ADON will lead charge nurses and supervisors, support regulatory compliance, drive QAPI initiatives, and ensure residents achieve their highest practicable well-being through effective care delivery and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary
Qualifications
- Education: nursing degree from an accredited program (ADN or BSN).
- Licensure: current RN license in CT with active CPR.
- Supervisory Experience: at least 2 years supervising in skilled nursing or similar.
- Restorative Nursing: at least 6 months in restorative nursing.
- Regulatory Knowledge: CMS Participation, state health codes.
- Clinical & Physical Capabilities: ability to perform rounds and emergency support.
Responsibilities
- Support regulatory compliance and QAPI initiatives; lead the nursing team.
- Lead charge nurses and supervisors and oversee nursing operations.
- Monitor care delivery, medications, procedures, and infection prevention.
- Coordinate resident assessments and care plans with physicians and teams.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, and daily staffing information.
- Assist with budget planning and resource allocations.
- Plan staff training with Staff Development Coordinator.
