Your Talent Team is actively seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) in Connecticut to join a premier nonprofit skilled nursing facility. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will help plan and direct daily clinical operations and lead charge nurses and supervisors toward high-quality resident care.

The role emphasizes regulatory compliance, QAPI initiatives, and ensuring residents achieve their highest practicable well-being.

Qualifications

• RN license in CT required; CPR certification active
• Two years nursing supervisory/leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or related setting
• Minimum six months restorative nursing experience in rehabilitative/restorative practices
• In-depth knowledge of long-term care regulations, CMS Participation Requirements, medical practices and state health codes
• Strong independent clinical judgment, documentation skills and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing day-to-day operations of the nursing department in compliance with standards
• Provide leadership and oversight to Charge Nurses and Nurse Supervisors and delegate authority as appropriate
• Conduct daily clinical rounds to monitor care delivery, medications, treatment protocols and infection prevention
• Participate in resident assessments and develop person-centered care plans
• Assist in staffing planning, scheduling, and posting staffing information
• Support recruitment, orientation, licensure verification and performance evaluations of nursing staff
• Coordinate care continuity with physicians, consultants, government agencies and interdisciplinary teams
• Lead the facility's QAPI program and participate in surveys, plans of correction
• Oversee medication administration and treatment schedules and report medication errors
• Assist with departmental budget planning and equipment/resource allocations
• Plan staff training programs with Staff Development Coordinator and ensure policy compliance
