Job summary

Kingfisher Recruiting is seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) for a premier Connecticut facility. The ADON will assist the Director of Nursing in planning and directing daily clinical and administrative operations, with oversight of charge nurses, staff training, and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes QA/QI initiatives, care plan development, and collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to achieve high-quality resident outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN or ASN).
• Current RN license in Connecticut; CPR certification.
• Minimum 2 years nursing supervisory/leadership in skilled nursing or hospital.
• 6 months rehabilitative/restorative nursing experience.
• In-depth knowledge of long-term care regulations and CMS participation.
• Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and directing day-to-day operations of the nursing department.
• Provide leadership to Charge Nurses and Supervisors; train and delegate tasks.
• Monitor care delivery, medications, and infection prevention standards.
• Lead resident assessments and develop person-centered care plans.
• Assist staffing, scheduling, and budget planning for the department.
• Oversee regulatory compliance and lead QAPI initiatives.
• Coordinate care with physicians and health services.
• Support staff development and training programs.
