Job description

Job Summary

Manages the day‑to‑day operations of the School of Nursing Professions office with discretion and independent judgment, including collection, processing, and analytics essential for student admissions, progression, graduation, and accreditation reports. Serves as a resource for staff in administrative processes across programs within the school.

Responsibilities
  • Formulate data collection tools and process student data associated with admissions, progression, and graduation for department and university assessment and accreditation reports.
  • Act as WebAdmit administrator and liaison with Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions.
  • Monitor and track the school budget and expenses, ensuring compliance with university policies and confidentiality of data.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions, process invoices and check requests, run monthly financial reports to balance the budget, and coordinate travel reimbursements.
  • Manage day‑to‑day office operations: maintain the school calendar, provide general information about the university, answer phone and email queries, draft correspondence, order supplies, and assign classroom and other rooms.
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with adjunct faculty and current students about school programs, admission requirements, process guidelines, and administrative tasks.
  • Assist faculty with internal and external grant budget management.
  • Assist in planning and implementing special events, including annual interview day, hooding ceremony, and new student orientation.
  • Maintain the department web page and prepare weekly department bulletins, event flyers, and program banners.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required (B.A., B.S.); field of Nursing preferred.
  • 1–2 years of administrative experience; experience in higher education is an advantage.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfortable handling event logistics.
  • No licenses or certifications required.
Financial Responsibility
  • Reviews and approves financial transactions at the function or school level.
  • May require interpretation of policies and making financial decisions within university or accepted accounting guidelines, including review of financial reports, purchasing decisions, and contract review/negotiation.
