Job summary

Milliman’s Summer 2027 Actuarial Internship offers 10–12 weeks of hands-on experience in pricing and reserving analyses across auto, homeowners, mortgage, workers’ comp, and more. Interns work on data analyses, client deliverables, and technical reviews while developing skills in Excel, R, Python, SQL, and PowerBI.

Opportunities to network with experts, collaborate across teams, and receive mentorship are integral.

Qualifications

• Pursuing bachelor’s or master’s in actuarial science, math, stats, econ, or related field, with at least one semester remaining.
• At least one actuarial exam passed at time of application.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and MS Office tools.
• Experience with programming or statistical tools (R, Python, SAS, VBA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with project teams on data analyses, create portions of client deliverables, perform technical review (“checking”), etc.
• Develop professional skills such as communication, task management, and presenting.
• Collaborate with colleagues at all levels, including senior consultants and principals.
• Receive mentorship and actionable feedback to support your career development.
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and social events designed for our interns.
• Build strong technical skills in Excel, R, Python, SQL, VBA, PowerBI, etc.
