Blue Cross NC is seeking an Actuarial Associate to grow actuarial expertise while supporting reserve valuation, financial forecasting, and health program analysis. You'll work with senior actuaries and cross-functional teams to provide rigorous analysis and practical insights.

This role emphasizes collaboration across Network Management, Underwriting, Sales, Finance, and Healthcare, with hybrid-flex work options and strong focus on development through the Actuarial Development Program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in a related field.
• 0–2 years of actuarial-related experience.
• Enrolled in the actuarial student program and pursuing ASA designation.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial, statistical and mathematical data and perform actuarial calculations.
• Assist in pricing, reserves and cash flow projections.
• Support rate studies to determine rate adequacy.
• Conduct actuarial research, experience studies, and statistical analyses.
• Provide support to senior analysts or actuaries.
• Retrieve and validate data for rate filings and models.
• Contribute to model enhancements and explain changes.
• Distribute reports and respond to inquiries.
• Investigate trends and anomalies.
• Support Enterprise Risk Management.
• Provide analytic support for corporate projects.
• Participate in the Actuarial Development Program.
