Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an Actuarial Associate to join our Commercial Reserving team. You will analyze data, support reserve valuation, forecasting and pricing activities, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to inform health programs and decisions.

You’ll work under experienced actuaries, pursue ASA requirements, and contribute to actuarial research and model development. Hybrid work options and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced degree; actuarial student program enrollment required.
• 0–2 years of related experience.
• Commitment to completing SOA education to attain ASA designation.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes financial, statistical and mathematical data and performs actuarial calculations.
• Assist in pricing, reserves and cash flow projections.
• Assist in rate studies used to determine rate adequacy.
• Actuarial research, experience studies, and statistical analyses and calculations.
• Provide support to senior analysts or actuaries as required.
• Retrieve and validate data for rate filings and actuarial models and build model enhancements.
• Distribute established reports and respond to inquiries.
• Investigate trends and anomalies.
• Support Enterprise Risk Management.
• Provide analytic support for corporate and departmental projects.
• Participate in Actuarial Development Program in good standing.
