Job summary

Blue Cross NC seeks an Actuarial Associate to grow actuarial expertise while supporting reserve valuation, forecasting, healthcare economics, and pricing activities. You'll collaborate with actuarial partners and cross‑functional teams to provide analysis and technical support informing health programs and business decisions.

Responsibilities include data analysis, rate studies, actuarial research, and supporting senior actuaries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Enrolled in actuarial student program and pursuing ASA designation.
• 0–2 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes financial, statistical and mathematical data and performs actuarial calculations.
• Assist in pricing, reserves and cash flow projections.
• Assist rate studies to determine rate adequacy.
• Assist in actuarial research, experience studies, and statistical analyses and calculations.
• Provide support to senior actuaries as required.
• Retrieve and validate data for rate filings and actuarial models; assist in model enhancements.
• Distribute reports and respond to inquiries.
• Investigate trends and anomalies.
• Support Enterprise Risk Management.
• Provide analytic support for corporate and departmental projects.
• Be a participant in the Actuarial Development Program.
