Job summary

ITW in the United States is seeking an AR Specialist to own the order-to-cash process for assigned customers. You’ll ensure accurate billing, timely cash application, proactive collections, and clean reporting to support a clear, auditable close.

You will collaborate with Customer Service, Logistics, Sales, and Plant Finance to keep receivables current, resolve disputes quickly, and drive process improvements using ERP systems and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of AR, billing, or collections experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, lookups).
• Strong attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication with customers and internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Review and release customer invoices, ensuring pricing, terms, and shipping documentation are correct.
• Support customer-specific billing requirements, including OEM portals, EDI, and price adjustments or retroactive billings.
• Coordinate with Sales and Pricing on contract changes, index-based adjustments, and credit/debit memos.
• Apply customer payments daily and resolve unapplied cash and short-pays.
• Monitor aging and run a disciplined collections cadence, escalating past-dues as needed.
• Maintain customer credit files and flag credit risk to the Accounting Manager.
• Prepare AR subledger-to-general-ledger reconciliations and support a timely month-end close.
• Prepare AR aging, DSO, and past-due reporting for Accounting Manager review.
