Job summary

ITW is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team in Illinois. The role combines AR management with general accounting duties and supports month-end close.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and has 2–5 years of accounting experience, including AR. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with SAP are preferred for accurate, timely financial processing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 2-5 years of accounting experience, with experience in accounts receivable strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and general ledger processes.
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and internal team members.
• Ability to independently manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving and reconciliation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the accounts receivable process and communicate with customers about balances and payment status.
• Apply customer payments accurately and promptly; monitor accounts for outstanding balances.
• Research and resolve billing questions, discrepancies, and payment issues.
• Prepare and post journal entries; maintain general ledger; perform reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close and with AP as needed.
• Support management with reports and analyses; maintain organized accounting files.
