Job summary

Illinois Tool Works, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our accounting team in Illinois.

This role combines general accounting duties with day-to-day accounts receivable management to ensure accurate and timely billing processes. You will handle customer communications, post journal entries, reconcile ledgers, assist with month-end close, and support the Accounting Manager on special projects.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of accounting experience with emphasis on accounts receivable.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and GL processes.
• Experience with accounting software and MS Excel; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts receivable process and monitor balances.
• Communicate professionally with customers on balances and payment status.
• Post journals, maintain GL accounts, and assist month-end close.
• Research billing questions and resolve discrepancies with customers.
