Job summary

The Maryland State Department of Education seeks a detail‑oriented payments processor to handle vendor and employee reimbursements, ensure proper backup, and maintain timely postings.

Hybrid work is available with up to 3 telework days per week. The role includes reviewing entries, creating upload files, resolving entry errors, and responding to inquiries from staff about expenses and working funds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems or developing automated spreadsheets, ledgers and reports.

Responsibilities

• Key Employee Expense forms reviewed by the Advance Accountant.
• Review entries to ensure they have all necessary backup and approvals.
• Create the TSO upload file from these journal entries.
• Work with programs/staff who have errors in their entries to correct the errors.
• Review RStars to ensure the interface is posted.
• Process direct vouchers in ADPICS, which interfaces to FMIS to pay credential invoices.
• Answer inquiries from employees regarding payment of expense account and working fund transactions.
• Upload the expense reports to Google Drive in a timely manner.
