Job summary

The Maryland State Department of Education is seeking a payments specialist to process vendor and employee reimbursements and manage expense workflows in a hybrid work setting at the Nancy S. Grasmick Education Building in Baltimore.

You will review entries, generate TSO uploads, coordinate with programs to correct errors, and respond to employee inquiries, supporting effective public finance operations for education and related services.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• One year of experience reconciling agency accounting systems or developing automated spreadsheets/reports using accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Process payments and reimbursements to vendors and employees.
• Review expense entries for backup and approvals.
• Create TSO upload file from journal entries.
• Correct entry errors with program staff.
• Review RStars interface postings.
• Upload expense reports to Google Drive in a timely manner.
