Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join its finance team in Groton, CT. The role covers full lifecycle of purchase ledger tasks, invoicing, general ledger support, and month-end close activities in a manufacturing setting.

You will verify payables, post ledgers, resolve invoice issues, and collaborate with teammates in a fast-paced environment. Office onsite with a flexible schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounts payable experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in data entry and daily accounting activities.

Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our dynamic Finance Team. In this role, you will engage in a variety of financial accounting activities, supporting the full life cycle of purchase ledger tasks. Your organizational and communication skills will be essential in managing additional responsibilities and addressing inquiries effectively. We are looking for a motivated individual with a 'can-do' attitude and experience in a similar position.

Responsibilities

• Verify and complete accounts payable transactions to ensure timely payment of invoices.
• Maintain ledgers by posting account transactions accurately.
• Assist in month-end closing processes by reconciling accounts.
• Support purchasing and general ledger activities.
• Utilize communication skills to resolve invoice approval issues and handle inquiries.

Essential Skills

• 1-3 years of accounts payable experience in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency in data entry and management of daily accounting activities.
• Working knowledge of Epicor or other ERP systems.
• Understanding of general accounting principles and procedures.
• Familiarity with Alabama Sales and Use Tax Laws.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; degree in Accounting/Finance or Business preferred.
• Experience with automated accounts payable software.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Groton, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
