Job summary

Davis Chevrolet Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking an Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk to join our team. This role requires 1–2+ years of automotive dealership AP experience, basic accounting knowledge, and strong Excel skills.

You will interact with service, parts and sales to ensure timely payments and accurate billing. Responsibilities include posting deposits, reconciling statements, vendor payments, and assisting with monthly closings. CDK and other automotive systems experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2+ years automotive dealership accounts payable experience or similar back-office role.
• Basic accounting knowledge.
• Computer literacy; intermediate Excel.
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
• Must pass drug and background test.

Responsibilities

• Post cash deposits and credit card payments daily.
• Reconcile items with service, parts and sales departments.
• Process payments to vendors and suppliers promptly.
• Reconcile manufacturer statements and month-end tasks.
• Prepare and manage daily deposits and cash receipts.
• Handle all accounts receivable and coordinate collections.
• Post manual journals and other postings as required.
• Issue and monitor purchase orders; correct errors in POs.

Davis Chevrolet is looking for a Accounts Payable / Receivable Clerk to join our successful team. We are looking for individuals with Accounts Payable / Receivable Clerk experience and the drive to succeed.

Responsibilities:

• Post cash deposits and credit card payments daily
• Work with the service, parts and sales departments on reconciling items and any follow ups needed
• Reconcile the maintenance payments and ensure receiving payments on time
• Other duties may be assigned
• Processing payments to vendors and suppliers in a timely manner
• Process and reconcile manufacturers statements
• Responsible for ensuring all billings are accurate and paid in time
• Research and resolve and discrepancies
• Interacts with vendors to verify billings
• Prepare and manage daily deposits, and cash receipts.
• Responsible for all accounts receivables and works with vendors on collections.
• Reconcile cash schedule and assist in monthly closings.
• Reconcile select accounts and schedules monthly, prior to month end.
• Post manual journal entries and any other posting as required.
• Issue purchase orders for supplies & invoices and monitor automated purchase order system, voiding and correcting errors.
• Complete end-of-month accounting reports.

Preferred:

• At least 1-2+ years of automotive dealership Accounts Payable experience, or other back office roles.
• Basic accounting experience.
• Ability to use a computer and CDK and other automotive systems.
• Excellent communication and follow up.
• Computer literate; intermediate Microsoft Excel experience.
• Must pass drug and background test
