Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract role based in Kankakee, IL. Immediate start with a focus on accurate invoice, expense, and payment processing within the P2P space.

You will liaise with stakeholders to resolve supplier issues, support master data changes, and monitor KPIs. The position offers onsite work with competitive hourly pay and eligible benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with some college math coursework, preferably accounting principles.
• At least 3 years accounts payable experience.
• AP and P2P experience in a similar role.
• Strong IT skills including SAP and Microsoft Office.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong planning/organizational skills.
• Positive and flexible approach to work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an issue log for allocated entities and hold weekly CAP meetings to resolve issues.
• Support stakeholder and supplier escalations related to invoices/payments by liaising with relevant departments.
• Assist Masterdata process, creating and amending supplier accounts and keeping stakeholders informed.
• Ensure key supplier statements are reconciled and take corrective actions.
• Review KPIs against targets and address underlying issues to meet them.
• Support P2P issues via Teams/phone and drive resolution with CAP team.
• Assist adoption of the OpenText invoice management system.
• Coordinate with Procurement to ensure a smooth end-to-end P2P process.
• Review GR/IR balances and resolve aged items.
• Encourage suppliers to submit invoices via email.
• Liaise with T&E team to resolve queries promptly.
• Perform ad hoc duties as necessary.
