A financial services firm is seeking a Director for the Accounts Payable function in New York, NY. This role is a global financial services leadership position focused on driving and scaling the Americas Accounts Payable function in a high-impact banking environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Americas Accounts Payable function, including invoice processing, payment execution, vendor maintenance, and reconciliations.
• Establish, enhance, and enforce AP policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure regulatory compliance and operational integrity.
• Lead automation, system optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close activities related to AP, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
• Partner with Procurement, Treasury, IT, Tax, and other Finance teams to align AP processes with broader financial objectives.
• Manage relationships with vendors, internal stakeholders, and external auditors.
• Track and report on KPIs and service-level metrics, delivering insights to senior leadership.
• Lead, coach, and develop a large, geographically dispersed AP team, balancing hands-on involvement with effective delegation.
• Stay current on regulatory developments, tax requirements, and global payment practices impacting Accounts Payable.

In office 3x a week in NYC.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience within a financial services environment; banking experience strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading large teams, including both in-office and remote staff.
• Strong knowledge of ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, and/or Workday.
• Experience implementing or working with AP automation tools and workflow technologies.
