Responsibilities

• Lead the full month-end and year-end close, including GL, journal entries, accruals and financial reporting.
• Own day-to-day accounting operations including AP/AR oversight, bank reconciliations, inventory accounting and payroll reconciliation.
• Lead manufacturing cost accounting including inventory, costing, variances and related analysis.
• Own sales tax, audit coordination and tax-related activities.
• Support forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis with leadership.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, reporting and efficiency.
• Lead and develop a small accounting team, including one direct report.

A growing, privately held food & beverage manufacturing company is seeking a hands‑on Accounting Manager to take ownership of the accounting function. This is an elevated role with significant visibility and an opportunity to make an immediate impact within a company entering an aggressive growth phase.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full month‑end and year‑end close, including GL, journal entries, accruals, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Own day‑to‑day accounting operations, including AP/AR oversight, bank reconciliations, inventory accounting and payroll reconciliation.
• Lead manufacturing cost accounting, including inventory, costing, production variances and related analysis.
• Own sales tax, audit coordination and tax‑related activities.
• Support forecasting, budgeting and financial analysis in partnership with leadership
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, reporting and efficiency.
• Lead and develop a small accounting team, including one direct report.

Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on accounting background with experience owning a full accounting function or close process.
• Proven manufacturing accounting and cost accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, reconciliations, inventory and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with sales tax, audits and tax support.
• Advanced Excel and analytical capabilities.
• Experience with an ERP system
• Leadership experience preferred, but strong Senior Accountants or Assistant Controllers ready to step into an Accounting Manager role will be considered.
• Ability to work fully onsite in San Antonio.
